I've recently joined a Facebook group called "Photography Contest," and there's a different theme each week. I thought it might be interesting to post my entry each week on this blog too, just for kicks & giggles. I'm just sorry I can't share the rest of the entries as well.
This week's theme was "Insects," and there were several interesting entries. Here's mine:
It was taken when we visited Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield last summer.
Here's the other shot I got of him. Boy, was he obnoxious!
The thing about insect shots is that they're PURE LUCK! Insects are so unpredictable, and it's hard for even the best of cameras to focus on something in constant motion.
I also thought about entering the pics of the caterpillars I posted a while back. Those were fun, but I'm not sure they are (technically) insects.

Nebo House
My friend Ginger graciously hosted a mother-daughter picnic yesterday for the girls in our Keepers group. Her family owns a lake house, and it was the perfect setting.
I walked around the grounds with my camera while the girls played together. I haven't had a chance to photoshop any of the pictures, but they were so pretty I just had to share them.
Here are some of my favorite shots...(click any image to enlarge it.)
The view from our picnic spot:

(Isn't the purple salvia gorgeous? Mine looks pitiful in comparison!)
Pretty yellow wildflowers:

A rustic birdfeeder spinning in the breeze next to a rose bush:

Standing under the big tree and looking out at the lake:

Couldn't resist the red roses:

...and a pink one too:
